History

The East Point Lighthouse was the 10th lighthouse constructed on PEI. It was built in 1867, and has the distinction of being the only Lighthouse in Canada that was built the same year as Confederation that is still in operation today. It stands at the most easterly tip of the Island at an impressive 64’ high and the view from the tower is incomparable.

Watch the sun rise, see the three turbulent tides meet over the reef, and count the many species of birds commonly spotted in the sky.

Take a tour to the top of the Light, drop in to the on-site café, and browse a while in the well-stocked gift shop.
